PM Modi lauded the RSS on it 100th : Foundation day, stating their devotion to ‘Maa Bharti’ will inspire generations

PM Modi and Amit Shah Commend RSS on Its Centenary Milestone

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as it marked its 100th year since its founding. Modi, a former RSS pracharak, lauded the organization’s commitment to nation-building and expressed confidence that its dedication to “Maa Bharti” (Mother India) would inspire future generations and energize the vision of a “developed India.” His message, posted on X (formerly Twitter), congratulated RSS volunteers on this significant achievement in their ongoing “Aviral Yatra” (uninterrupted journey).

Modi also encouraged citizens to listen to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Vijayadashami address, sharing a link to the speech on X. This annual event takes place during Dussehra in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where Bhagwat traditionally addresses RSS volunteers.

Amit Shah’s Praise for RSS

Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed Modi’s sentiments, acknowledging the critical role the RSS has played since its inception in preserving Indian culture and instilling patriotism in the country’s youth. He emphasized the RSS’s efforts in promoting social service, education, and community empowerment.

Shah remarked that the centenary milestone is an opportunity to elevate the self-confidence of RSS volunteers for the protection and service of the motherland. He saluted those who have dedicated their lives to expanding the RSS and strengthening its ideological framework.

Bhagwat’s Vijayadashami Address

In his annual Vijayadashami address, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Chief Mohan Bhagwat focused on the need for Hindu unity and called on the community to bridge caste differences, specifically urging outreach to Dalits and other marginalized groups. Bhagwat highlighted concerns about a “Deep State” working to divide India along caste and community lines, alleging that certain political parties were exploiting these divisions for selfish gains.

He further warned that “being weak is a crime” and emphasized the importance of unity and empowerment to safeguard vulnerable sections of society. In his view, any form of disunity among Hindus would invite external threats.

‘Sanatan Dharma’ and National Security

Bhagwat reaffirmed that “Dharma,” or righteousness, is universal, eternal (Sanatan), and fundamental to the existence of the universe. He characterized Hindu Dharma not as a newly invented religion but as a universal truth belonging to all of humanity. This, he said, makes it a “religion for the world.”

On the topic of security, Bhagwat expressed concern about incidents of violence against women, citing the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata as a shameful example of such atrocities. He also commented on troubling developments in neighboring Bangladesh, where political upheaval has led to anti-India narratives, suggesting that some factions were advocating a union with Pakistan to counter India’s influence.

Bhagwat noted that the Hindu community in Bangladesh has faced repeated atrocities and called for a united Hindu front to protect minorities. He urged global Hindu support and emphasized that weakness invites violence, stressing the need for empowerment and solidarity to counter such threats.

RSS: A Century of Service

Founded on Vijayadashami in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, the RSS has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s sociopolitical landscape. As the ideological backbone of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been instrumental in the party’s growth and organizational structure over the decades. The Sangh’s influence extends beyond politics, promoting community service, cultural preservation, and education.

As it enters its 100th year, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sanghremains committed to its foundational values, continuing to evolve while holding onto its core mission of nation-building. Modi’s and Shah’s tributes reflect the organization’s enduring impact on India’s society and governance. With its centenary celebrations now underway, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is poised to continue its influence on the nation’s future, inspiring generations to come.
